Audio files can take from 10 seconds to over a minute to start. Audio is supplied here in any of three formats: Real audio, Windows media and Mp3. (Mp3's are larger downloads but may be played offline.) The file size may be measured in kb (kilobytes).

• Windows media: the player required is pre-installed in most PCs; just click on a Windows media link to play it. If you don't have the player you might download Winamp (select the "Full" version). It's a smaller download than Windows media player and can play both this format and Mp3.

• Real audio: All our audio is available in this format. To listen to Real audio you need "Real player". You can select a Real Player to download Here (opens Real audio site). Downloads may take 10 minutes or so, but you will find Realplayer useful throughout the Web. N.B - It's worth scrutinising any Realplayer forms so you can uncheck any options for unwanted email services.

• Mp3: Mp3's provide the best sound quality, they are downloaded to a folder in your computer so you can play an Mp3 when offline. (Once downloaded you click the file to start it playing.) An Mp3 player is pre-installed in most modern PCs, Windows media player will play Mp3's. If you require a player, you might try Winamp .

Note on downloads: once you have downloaded new software you need to install it. Usually this is automatically triggered when you click on the downloaded file.
